Argan oil is most useful when each area receives the right amount. The same bottle can support face, hair and body care, but the gesture changes: drops for the face, a light film for hair lengths and a little more surface coverage for hands or body.

Cosmetic argan oil is not culinary argan oil

Cosmetic argan oil is used externally. Culinary argan oil is prepared for food and is recognised by its toasted character. Keep the two uses separate and follow the wording on the original bottle rather than relying on colour alone.

Argatherapy does not deodorise its cosmetic argan oil as a default brand practice. A natural aroma, colour and texture can therefore remain noticeable and can vary slightly with the raw material.

How much to use on face and body

For the face, begin with two drops on clean, slightly damp skin. Press over cheeks, forehead, jaw and neck instead of repeatedly rubbing one area. Add one more drop only if the finish feels comfortable and the skin still needs it.

For hands or body, work section by section after bathing. Slightly damp skin helps a small amount travel farther and makes it easier to avoid a heavy layer.

How to apply argan oil to hair

For everyday finishing, warm one or two drops and smooth them over the mid-lengths and ends. Keep the first application away from the roots unless the intended ritual specifically includes the scalp.

For a pre-wash ritual, use a little more on the lengths, leave it for the time indicated by your routine, then shampoo and assess before repeating. Fine hair generally needs less than dense or very dry hair.

Layering, storage and responsible use

Use lighter water-based textures first and argan oil last. A floral water followed by a few drops is a simple sequence; adding several rich products at once makes it harder to understand what the skin or hair actually needs.

Close the bottle promptly and keep it away from heat, direct light and moisture. Use a clean dropper or clean, dry hands. Patch test when appropriate and stop if discomfort occurs.
